Alpha -lipoic acid is used in antiaging cosmetic products to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on skin. Most ALA skin care products include ALA with a mix of other ingredients that moisturize skin and help prevent photo-aging. Some researchers recommend applying a 1% to 4% ALA cream or gel every second day for 3 weeks prior to using it daily.
